Thanksgiving at Home

We had a very nice Thanksgiving at home with Aunt Helen, Uncle Peter, and Helen's roommate Amy.  It was only the second time we've been in our own house to celebrate Thanksgiving.  We decided this year it would be easier to stay home than to drag the kids out of town.

As always, Desmond was a huge help and put in some hard work making sweet potatoes.

The morning after Thanksgiving we went downtown for Portland's Macy's Day Parade.  It was Desmond's first parade, and he really enjoyed it.  Molly was snuggled up in the front pack and slept through the entire thing.  So in her own way, I guess she enjoyed it, too.  The parade was Desmond's first glimpse at Santa, who rode in on the last float.

In other news, last week I went to my friend Jen's to check on our cheese.  It's really looking and tasting like an Italian hard cheese now!  We could tell from the taste and texture that it needs another month of aging, but it should be ready for Christmas!

Molly will be 2 months on November 26, and she's growing like a weed!  Here's a recent picture of our little Molly Jean, who has almost perfected the fine art of smiling.
