We are just coming out of an unbelievable cold spell that had us below freezing all day and night for over a week. At one point our low was a frigid 6 degrees, and it even snowed twice. The highlight by far was the lake, which froze solid -- solid enough for us to even stand on it.
Desmond wanted some ice, so we broke off a chunk for him. It's still sitting outside our back door, but it's now surrounded by a puddle of water. You can see this ice is really thick, and this was the part that was thin enough for us to break it.
Here's Molly enjoying the park on a cold day. This was actually before it got really, really cold. On the coldest days poor Molly, who is not the best with gloves, would cry on the way home because her little fingers were like icicles.
Here's another one from today, when it was getting a little warmer.
And the last update of this post is that I made a beautiful apple pie for Thanksgiving and just wanted to brag about it here. Feast your eyes on this.
