Desmond is now in third grade. Here are some pics of him on the first day. He chose the pose for this first one. It's supposed to look like he's coming out the front door. LOL!
He's got a great teacher this year. Her name is Mrs. Jurinek, and she has lots of experience teaching, but this is her first classroom. She's really into Harry Potter, so their entire classroom is decorated in Harry Potter style, and she uses flexible seating. Desmond got to sit on an actual couch on the second day of school! Kinda crazy!
Molly is (finally) in kindergarten! She's at the same school as Desmond, too! She even has his old teacher, Mrs. Orchard. She is a real natural in there, since she used to come with me when I volunteered for Desmond's kindergarten class. She's so excited that she finally gets to do all the fun things she saw Desmond do!
The kids have also started soccer. Desmond is pretty hesitant on the field still, which is a shame, because he's got some great skills! Every now and then he'll forget himself and show what he's got, and it's awesome to see.
Molly's little team is made up mostly of her kinder and former preschool friends, and her friend's mom is the coach. This is the stage where the kids spend most of their time just chasing the ball around the field in a big clump, but it's sure cute to watch!
I hope the start of school and sports has gone well for everyone else! I'll be posting about the rest of our trip soon!
